“Eating is a common daily activity, but sharing a meal can be so much more than gaining sustenance”.
That’s the first motto I got to know about Cyra’s, this little diamond in the heart of Dalton, and it got me thinking. As a young Italian man passionate for good food, I’m the kind of person that wants to feel relaxed when going out to eat. That’s why I always enjoy the few occasions I have for a dinner with my friends in our favorite “pizzeria” in my small hometown.
When I came into Cyra’s, though, I felt something more. The low lights make the ambiance feel so relaxed; the paintings all around the walls carry me into another world; a beautiful relaxing music does the rest. You’ll enjoy a meal with your loved ones to the strains of Andrea Bocelli. When I look at our customers enjoying their meal, I feel envious: I wish I could do the same with my loved ones as well!
T.J. Kaikobad, the owner of this new restaurant in downtown Dalton, says: “I have a lot of stories to tell, but I’m not the kind of person that loves to share them online.” My attention was immediately captured and I couldn’t help but ask for something more. I like to hear that behind the scenes of a company there’s a human aspect. When you talk to TJ, you can see in his eyes all the passion and the memories of a man that came to the U.S. by himself when he was only 18 years old.
“Our chef comes here every day in the early morning. We prepare all our food from scratch. Although it’s not easy, we feel like we can give our guests something more.”
Words that stroke me immediately, as a passionate for healthy food (and I had not heard the best part yet). In fact, Cyra’s gets all their herbs from the Northwest Whitfield High School, therefore supporting their Agricultural Program. “Our chef has a passion for integrating locally sourced goods into his gourmet dishes.“ says TJ, proudly showing the pots full of beautiful green herbs, on display on a wall of his delightful restaurant.
I felt we had to share some of these stories because I don’t want our guests to come here, get their food, and go out of this place without engaging the human part of this restaurant. I invite you all to ask TJ to have a quick chat during your stay at Cyra’s. Ask him about the food you’ve ordered. You’ll immediately trigger his passion for great food and…he’ll probably wind up telling you some stories, sitting with you all for longer than he should!
The food, the ambience, and the attention to ever detail was so impressive. We give Cyra’s a 10 out of 10!!!
Many thanks, Debbie.
It’s a pleasure to read your words!
Great people great food. Wish there were more of them to go around. I need one in Alabama. Haley and Kalli will take care of you as the rest of the staff. I hope you will give it a try and enjoy.
